  • How long will my permanent jewellery last?
If you look after your permanent jewellery, the chains can last as long as you want. It is recommended that jewellery is cleaned after swimming or using lotions and that you avoid harsh chemicals. Please keep in mind that some of the chains are dainty and not indestructible. Should your chain break, contact us to arrange a repair.
  • What type of chains do you use?
We use solid sterling silver, 14k gold filled and 14k rose gold filled chains. Gold filled jewellery is a type of metal product that is made by bonding a layer of solid gold to a base metal, usually brass or copper. This layer of gold is much thicker than gold plating, making gold-filled jewellery more durable, longer-lasting and more affordable than solid gold.
  • How do I look after my jewellery?
Permanent jewellery can be washed gently with a soft toothbrush and warm soapy water. It is recommended that you do this after exposure to chlorine, sea water, lotions or chemicals. To ensure that your permanent jewellery lasts, avoid excessive exposure to lotions, perfumes, and chemicals and polish with a soft cloth to maintain shine.
  • What if the chain breaks?
A 7 day warranty is provided for any breakages due to welding issues and any repairs required in that time will be done for free. You must have your chain to qualify for this free repair. Lost chains will not be able to be replaced free of charge. Jewellery that gets broken after the 7 day period are at no fault of MuMu Permanent Jewellery. Chains that have been stretched/pulled will not be covered under this warranty, but we can repair the chain for you at a cost. Repairs, resizing and rewelds start from $20 and will be dependent upon the work required.
  • Can you add a clasp?
Yes! If you need to remove your jewellery regularly (eg. for work or sport) but still want to create a custom piece, we can add a clasp on for a small fee.
  • Does it hurt?
Not at all! Attaching your permanent jewellery is quick and painless. There will be a little flash of light, but you will not feel a thing.
  • What happens when I go through airport security?
Permanent jewellery chains are so fine that they do not need to be removed to go through airport security.
  • What if I need to have an X-ray, MRI or medical procedure?
Check with your doctor. Sometimes fine jewellery can stay on during these procedures if it is not in the area being scanned. If you need to remove the jewellery, follow the instructions provided below.
  • How do I remove permanent jewellery?
If you need to remove your permanent jewellery, you can make a cut at the jump ring with scissors or a nail clipper. Safely store your chain, so that if you wish to reattach your jewellery at any point, you can make an appointment with us for a reweld.
  • Where are you located?
We are located in the south of Adelaide, South Australia. Individual appointments are offered in Somerton Park and private parties/pop up events can be organised at a location where we come to you.
  • How old do I have to be to get permanent jewellery?
You must be 16 years of age to book a permanent jewellery appointment. Client under the age of 18 will need a parent/guardian to attend the appointment with them and provide consent.
  • Can I have a spray tan with permanent jewellery?
Yes, you can still get a spray tan after getting permanent jewellery. Ensure that you move the chain when your beautician is applying your tan, to make sure they get underneath. Then when you are ready to wash your tan off, use a soft brush and some warm, soapy water to gently clean the chain. Wipe over with a jewellery cloth when it’s dry and it should be good as new!
